May 8, 2010, was World Red Cross Day, and chapters across the globe celebrated the birth of founder Henri Dunant. Locally, the Bermuda Red Cross held a White Diamond Banquet at the Fairmont Southampton. Over 450 supporters danced to the sounds of Ronnie Lopes’s band and DJ Danger Dan. A silent-auction table featured fabulous donated items for guests’ bidding. The event raised close to $80,000 to fund local programmes.
