The Bermudian

The fifth TEDxBermuda ended with a lively wrap party at Pier Six, Hamilton, headlined by Uzimon and Joy T. Barnum with local band Bones. It was a fitting finale to a high-energy October 4 event at the Southampton Princess, which drew a record crowd of almost 1,000 Bermudians and visitors.

TEDxBermuda showcased a dozen presenters who each delivered their “idea worth spreading.” On stage this year were an international explorer, a Doctor Who actress, a White House cyber security expert, an Easter Island archaeologist, the lead developer of the IBM Watson computer programme (of Jeopardy fame), experts in conversation analysis, intelligent textiles and bitcoins, a hoop dancer and Bermudians diver Weldon Wade, poet Stephan Johnstone and Daniel Frith (the real Uzimon).
