The Bermudian

On Tuesday night, 16 February, Bermuda embraced the international human rights campaign, #StandWithCongo at Marcus' restaurant.  Combining the themes of Congo and Hollywood, the night was filled with drums, music, bright colours, and photo ops on the red carpet with award winning House of Cards star Robin Wright. Ms. Wright hosted the event along with campaign director JD Stier, filmmaker Mike Ramsdell, Bermuda's own Kim Carter and Neil Glass of Wishing step Pictures and Greg Soares of Hamilton Rotary. #StandWithCongo is an activist campaign that will raise broad public awareness of the deadly conflict in Congo, its economic drivers, and urge the audience to sign and share the petition for increased transparency in an effort to thwart the war profiteering of international mining companies.  To learn more visit: www.standwithcongo.org <http://www.standwithcongo.org>
