Lamont Robinson: Making a World of Fashion
img

When you are a “Jack of all Trades” like Lamont Robinson, finding time to relax is difficult but ultra-talented Mr. Robinson’s single piece of business wisdom is to “sleep, sleep, sleep!” As a matter of fact, when he isn’t singing or preparing work for his well-known modelling agency and school, JaKoMa Group, he does just that! Because he lives such a busy life, Lamont reveals that as long as he is still for a long enough period of time, he sleeps and it doesn’t have to be day or night, can even be in the middle of a loud party! To calm himself after a long day or huge fashion show, Lamont unwinds with a movie. He shares, “I find this relaxes and clears my thoughts so I can sleep peacefully without interruptions of my brain contemplating what’s to happen next. It’s the perfect remedy.”

Who is Lamont Robinson? Lamont is a singer, actor, member of the Working Title band, fashion show producer, model school instructor, JaKoMa Group business owner, Slique magazine owner and dancer! Lamont’s family and friends keep him grounded. “There are only but a few people that I truly can ask anything of that look for nothing in return or who will be there for me at any given time. These people anchor me, I don’t actually ask much from them but I know that they are there and I cherish that.” And, what drives this super-human? “I am driven to do what I do because I see and feel talent in everyone and I really get a joy out of helping artists showcase and develop their gifts. Just seeing artists reach the confidence and know how to publically showcase themselves is reward enough,” Lamont confesses. Mr. Robinson enjoys the company of people and reveals that he has a variety of close friends who are humble, loud, adventurous, sleep easy, intellectual, strict, pranksters and so many other characteristics, all of which are hidden in this multi-dimensional man.

Lamont believes that future historians will view our current era as the disposable era. “We are ready to rid ourselves from anything, whether it is in perfect condition or not, just have the newest and the latest. That has even trickled into the entertainment industry where talents don’t have to be long lasting as long as they can remain a hit long enough to make substantial money,” he stated. It seems that many musicians may not be in it to win it and do not hold a true love for the art if the money doesn’t follow. Mr. Robinson’s final advice to others is to have a primary goal and plan for it. “Even if that plan is elaborate, plan for it!”

And, what is Lamont doing now? Very shortly the JaKoMa NEX School and Modelling Agency will reopen its doors to the community again! Interested individuals may visit www.jakoma.com for further information about the school and modelling agency. Slique Magazine will also be returning to the online entertainment scene.
