Wow, that was a tough one! Congratulations to Debbie Jackson who although said the location photographed is the present site of the Canoe Club, not the Yacht Club, we knew she had it right! This photograph was taken in 1875 and proves the spot was always a popular location for sailors to fit their vessels for a day out at sea.

Coming off East Broadway onto Front Street, a little back from the gas station, where the brothel used to be? |

The water is probably Harrington Sound, so I'll say the photograph was taken from somewhere near Devil's Hole. |

I will guess the Southside of St. Davids near Miss Annie's or Gracie's Bay looking across Castle Harbour toward where the hotel would be built. |

A view in a westerly direction of St. Georges Harbour and Ordinance Island from the boat club near Tiger Bay. Must have been before the Airport was dredged and some islands were removed from the harbour. |

oh - not Tiger Bay - I meant the condo development on the east side of the harbour. |

I'm guessing Pitt's Bay, taken from what is now the Princess cycle parking area. The building to the right would be what was Pitt's Bay Boat Co. |
