If you appreciate good music but you’re tired of turning to DJs for your live entertainment, you might be interested to learn about Tony Bari - a pianist with jazzy fingers and an excess of talent. A local favorite for private events and memorable for his past performances at The Reefs Hotel &Club from 1984 until last year.
His CD, “Ciao for Now”, captures his feelings on the subject of his career as a pianist – he hopes continue returning with new songs and performances for everyone to enjoy. He has kept up with his CD’s promise and is currently working on a new project consisting of a few originals of his own as well as covers of other songs with personal style changes.
Tony Bari explained how he is, “jazz and classically orientated but can most certainly play for the mood and play a song with a jazzy flair”. This is made even more impressive once learning of his ability to have memorized all his songs as well as his propensity to listen and repeat patterns of any song he hears. His versatility coupled with his personable character makes his performances a thoroughly enjoyable experience for all audiences!
Mr. Bari grew up in a musical household in Boston, he started playing the piano at the age of five and hasn’t stopped since. After moving to Bermuda just over 30 years ago, Mr. Bari has noticed a decline in the hotels' interest in having pianists play. He is passionate about having what he calls the “silenced pianos” heard again; he says that in order to do so he needs to, “attract a following”.
You can find Mr. Bari playing occasionally at Shine Hayward’s Club but if you are interested in sharing his sound with friends and family for a private event you can contact him at: tbari@northrock.bm
