On North Shore Road in Bailey’s Bay is a family home with a lot of history. Most of us, at some time or other, have driven by and pointed at the newly built house at the side of the road and said something to the effect of: “that place looks so nice now that it’s fixed up” or (and those of us who admit to saying this have no shame in revealing our age) “remember when that little place was the Pig N’ Whistle?”. That little place is home to the Hocking family. The Outerbridge family abode is home to Carol, Bill and their daughter, Catherine. The Outerbridges moved into their Middle Road, Paget home in January of 2004 after falling head-over-heels in-love with its charm and character. They invited us in on a warm, sunny afternoon and promised us that by the time we left we would feel the warmth and happiness their home exudes.
Nestledown, as it's named, originally belonged to the Frith family who at one time owned property all the way across to the South Shore. Today, the road is quiet and peaceful with homes and families who cherish the character and spirit of old Bermuda.
One such family, the Fowles, live in one of Bermuda’s ancestral homes that line Mangrove Bay, the Old Post Office, a family heirloom passed down through the Fowles since John Fowle purchased the property from the Gilbert’s in 1826. He subsequently got to work building a home with a spa...

Ocean-inspired and beautifully Bermudian is the theme of the Marquardt family home in Paget. Alan and Ruth and their two college-aged daughters, Brittany and Chelsea, not only enjoy the relaxed and serene atmosphere their home exudes, they love that it pays tribute to a wealth of family memories they’ve shared together. Alan is a well-known professional underwater photographer who has taken his family all over the world photographing and exploring ocean species and shipwrecks. It is with that same family togetherness that their home is enjoyed.
The Marquart family home was built by Alan himself and completed six years ago. Every aspect of their home was carefully considered as Alan and Ruth wanted to make sure it was a place that was warm, inviting and somewhere they could...
