Bermuda’s oldest paint store was founded by Arthur Rowe Spurling after he completed tours of duty in both the First and Second World Wars. An ace pilot, squadron commander and recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross, Rowe Spurling brought that same level of dedication and excellence to establishing a paint company with superior products and service.

Rowe Spurling offers premium house paint, boat paint, car paint and decorative/craft paint. Its brands include Benjamin Moore, Muralo, Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, Epifanes, Interlux and Sea Hawk. But the company is probably even better known for its client relations. The staff engage with every customer, genuinely interested in their plans and projects so they can recommend the best products and – inevitably – enjoy the photos shared when the work is done.

Rowe Spurling is as much a retail outlet as it is a community. Over the years, many of the clients who walk through the doors become lifelong friends who swap recipes, share vacation photos and trade DIY tips. At the heart of this community is the staff, who are comfortable and confident with people, friendly, courteous and experts in their field. They have tried every product in the store and love to pass on their tips and tricks to help every project come to life. Because the staff feels like a family, they treat the customers the same way. This is one reason why customers keep coming back.

The company also earns repeat business because of its commitment to innovation. Paint chemistry is moving forward as quickly as phone and computer technology. For example, environmentally friendly water-based paints such as Muralo Ultra Waterbourne are as durable as traditional oils but clean up with water. New advances in paint mixing also allow Rowe Spurling to make paint faster, match colours more accurately and serve its customers more efficiently. Always improving, the company offers the best products available because its clients deserve no less.

Rowe Spurling is also committed to product education and helps its customers understand the benefits of new paint technologies, including their beauty and durability. The company shares knowledge and insights through its blog (https://rowespurlingpaintcompany.wordpress.com), which both inspires and informs, and through its social media sites, which customers also use to make contact when not able to visit the shop.

Technologically savvy, customer friendly and offering an exceptional line of products, Rowe Spurling is a leader in its field.
