In April of 2008, Partner and CEO Sharon A. Beesley and Managing Partner Marco Montarsolo, having both worked at prestigious firms, joined forces to found a legal enterprise that has grown into BeesMont Law. Their vision was to create a unique firm that does more than interpret the law and offer advice. They wanted to develop collaborative relationships with clients so they could offer innovative and practical solutions that work.

Despite the global downturn, the firm grew steadily. Initially, it focused solely on corporate law, but when former Bermuda Attorney General Saul Froomkin, OBE, QC, joined the team in 2012, the litigation arm opened. Along the way, the firm also added an ancillary property law department and moved to its current location in 2013 during a time of significant growth. Today, BeesMont is one of the most well-known firms in Bermuda, recognised by agencies such as IFLR 1000, Legal 500, and Chambers and Partners for its ability to achieve results in a responsive, measured and intelligent manner.

The firm’s corporate clients come from around the world and include multinational institutions using Bermuda as a base for structuring their businesses or financing and Bermuda-based institutions in the banking and funds sectors. The team provides these clients with tailored solutions for corporate and commercial needs and has expertise in a range of areas including investment funds, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and general cross-border transactions.

On the litigation side, Saul Froomkin and Allan Doughty have built a strong and internationally recognised practice. Dealing with domestic and international matters, they advise on a range of civil, criminal, constitutional and administrative law matters and have had a variety of high-profile successes including several human rights rulings.

BeesMont is committed to providing thoughtful, timely and cost-effective legal advice to its clients. The firm emphasises great service and on-going communication and transparency in its project management, and its legal professionals are dedicated to the success of their clients.

There are ten lawyers at BeesMont, including seven Bermudians, who qualified at leading international schools, and they are all client-focused, practical people with experience at leading firms in Toronto, London, Hong Kong and Bermuda. They are also actively involved in community and industry projects, working with the Bermuda Development Agency, doing a variety of pro bono and charity work and regularly supervising law students.
