Dear Reader:
Our learned colleagues of the editorial staff have made comment on the new business era which is dawning here in Bermuda. It would appear, from the numerous deals in the hotel industry, that big business has come to Bermuda and that business, generally, should be that much better off because of this development.
Bermuda is unique in many ways, in her beauty, antiquity and charm, but it is even more so as far as her economy is concerned. It is a lopsided economy at best, with the only industry being the tourist trade. This industry supports every allied business on the Islands, so it can truly be said that the happiness of the visitor is essential to the success of Bermuda’s enterprise. The theme, “Your happiness is our success,” is behind every business on the Islands, the visitor can be sure.
The great bulk of our readership is composed of those visitors who have come to Bermuda and like it so much that they come back every year. These people are so much sold on the Islands that they want to be sure they never get out of touch with the comings and goings – and general activity – of our mid-ocean resort.
