The Bermudian

Makes 50

1 cup finely chopped nuts

1 cup salted butter

5 tbsp. granulated sugar

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp. vanilla

1 tbsp. water

Icing sugar for coating

Preheat oven to 350F.

Finely chop nuts and set aside.

Cut butter into pieces. Using a food processor with blade turning, put pieces of butter through feed tube and process until smooth. Add sugar gradually and process until creamy. Add flour gradually until well blended. Add vanilla and water and pulse until blended.

Stir in finely chopped nuts and shape mixture into bite-sized balls. Place on greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.

Cool on rack. Roll in icing sugar. (You can dip in melted semi-sweet chocolate if you prefer.)
