Premier privileges extended to your family
HSBC Premier has responded to growing intergenerational societal pressures by adding new benefits to its family services. Premier knows that financial health for the whole family has become a priority for customers and has a significant influence on their financial decisions. For younger members, financial support for their educational goals at high school here or abroad and at college or university can be crucial.

Understanding its customer needs, Premier is also available to spouses and children (until age 28) of Premier customers, giving them access to a wide range of exclusive benefits. These include having a dedicated Relationship Manager who will provide personalized, expert advice for the whole family on a whole range of financial issues, including insurance, education costs, retirement planning, investing, and saving. Students enjoying Premier status will receive 24/7 support from HSBC’s Contact Centre no matter where in the world they are studying. The best available rates are available for education loans and for foreign exchange when they need funds in other currencies. They will also be able to access fee free account opening services and preopen overseas accounts with dedicated support before leaving Bermuda, while also enjoying fee free transfers between their local and global HSBC accounts.  Important for older students travelling or studying abroad, privileges include fee free cash withdrawals from all worldwide HSBC ATMs.

Transitioning into adulthood can be challenging. Extending Premier status to the children of HSBC Premier customers until they reach 28 means they will receive support through university and as they establish their careers. If they wish to buy property in Bermuda, they can receive the Family Springboard Mortgage, offering Premier preferential mortgage rates, and alternatives to cash down payments. Should they wish to buy property abroad, they can be introduced to international HSBC Premier representatives for mortgage referrals.

But HSBC Premier also understands the importance of educating children from the start about the importance of managing and saving money. Financial literacy is key. For that reason, Premier has recently launched, on 15 March 2021, a Premier MySavings Account for children of Premier customers aged 7, who will receive preferential monthly and bonus quarterly rates and eligibility to the savings account until the age of 24.

In addition, HSBC just recently launched a new financial literacy series featuring several age-appropriate teaching videos and resources for children aged 7 to young adults on how to manage their own money.
