Anna’s journey into the beauty industry began early. “I always wanted to be in the beauty business since I was a young child,” she explains. That early passion led her to Los Angeles at just 20 years old, where she trained professionally and began working full-time in a busy day spa. “The owner took me under her wing and taught me everything, including all the industry secrets,” she recalls. After a decade of honing her craft in California, Anna brought her expertise to Bermuda, working at The Reefs Hotel spa for another ten years before taking a leap of faith into entrepreneurship.
That leap was driven not only by ambition, but by a deeply personal vision. “My husband understood my passion for this industry and said we should open up our own spa. As they say, the rest is history.” The result was Ani’s Nail & Beauty Lounge, named after her daughter, a reflection of both her family values and her commitment to excellence.
Since opening in April 2014, Ani’s has evolved into an award-winning beauty destination in Hamilton. What began as a specialised service offering has grown into a full-service wellness hub featuring high-tech skincare, advanced aesthetics, massage therapy, and even an online store. Despite this growth, Anna has remained steadfast in her original mission: creating a space where clients feel truly valued.
Indeed, what sets Ani’s apart in a competitive market is its deeply personalised approach. Clients are not just customers, they are individuals whose needs are carefully listened to and met. “Undivided attention to our clients make them feel at home,” Anna explains, emphasising the importance of both emotional connection and technical excellence. She highlights her excitement around advanced skincare, with a focus on cellular repair and non-invasive treatments, as well as wellness-focused services like lymphatic drainage and reflexology. This blend of cutting-edge technology and human touch—what she calls “the touch and the tech”—defines the Ani’s experience.
Running a business, however, has not come without challenges. Anna admits that “the biggest challenge was the leap of faith to go out on my own,” yet her resilience, combined with a strong support system—including her husband, team, and general manager—has helped her navigate those hurdles successfully.
One of her proudest moments came early on: “The grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony officiated by then Premier Michael Dunkley.” But beyond accolades, Anna finds the greatest fulfillment in her team and clients. “Mentoring local talent and seeing my very talented and skilled team offering best professional services” stands out as a defining achievement.
Ultimately, her philosophy is simple yet powerful: “Beauty is an inside-out process where mental well-being and physical care are deeply connected.” At Ani’s Nail & Beauty Lounge, that belief is woven into every treatment, every interaction, and every detail, making it not just a beauty destination, but a place of empowerment and care.
