Martins’ path into pharmacy began early. “I enjoyed Chemistry in High School and wanted a career where I could help people,” she recalls. With few local pharmacists to look up to at the time, a formative experience working at Somerset Pharmacy during her teenage years cemented her ambition. “I looked forward to making it my career,” she says .
After gaining experience across Bermuda, the UK, and the US, Martins returned home with a vision. She wanted to create a pharmacy that went beyond simply dispensing medication. “I wanted to open a pharmacy where I could use my ideas and offer services that were not yet available in Bermuda where we put the patient first,” she explains . That philosophy remains the cornerstone of her business today.
Leadership, for Martins, is rooted in humility and collaboration. “Teamwork is vital. No one person is more important than the other,” she says. Her approach is also deeply personal: “I pray for direction and am thankful for the results” . This blend of faith and pragmatism has helped her navigate the complexities of running a healthcare business in a rapidly evolving industry.
The recent expansion of her brand with Moongate Chemist by Caesar’s marks an exciting new chapter. Located in the heart of Hamilton, the pharmacy brings Caesar’s trusted service model into a bustling urban setting. “We wanted to offer the same friendly service in Hamilton, where we can help others,” Martins says. “We are approachable and will do our utmost to accommodate your needs” .

Backed by the legacy of Caesar’s Pharmacy, the new location leverages modern tools such as artificial intelligence and digital touchpoints to enhance patient care. Yet Martins insists that technology is only part of the equation. A “patient centered approach, coupled with flexibility of pricing,” remains key to standing out in a competitive market .
Despite the demands of running a business, Martins never loses sight of her core mission. “Patients’ health is at the centre of our approach,” she emphasizes. “Business decisions are made with them in mind and are always premised on ethical care” .
