Before drones, aerial photographs of the island were difficult and costly to produce. One had to hire an airplane and secure a photographer with the appropriate equipment, then develop the images in a dark room. It goes without saying that aerial images of the island are rare but the ones that do exist paint the picture of the metamorphosis of our little island.
