What’s better than a convenient morning meal that is packed with nutrients and flavor but is quick and easy enough for those on the go? Overnight oats take about 10 minutes to prepare in the evening and are ready and delicious by morning.
Oats are a great source of fiber, contain healthy carbohydrates and also pack in some B vitamins, biotin, iron and zinc. They are a great breakfast for the whole family and can be customized for everyone’s individual taste, from cinnamon and apple to peanut butter chocolate chip. You can also add in some protein powder to take it to the next level!
Mason jars are great for this recipe, as they are a cheap and convenient way to meal-prep multiple overnight oats at a time, which I would highly suggest! However, feel free to use any kind of container as long as it fits the ingredients and can be sealed.
Ingredients:
1 tbsp. chia seeds
½ cup rolled oats
½ cup almond milk (or milk of your choice)
1 tbsp. honey (or agave, maple syrup etc.)
Directions:
In a Mason jar or container, mix all the ingredients until well combined. Some of my favourite add-ins include fruit, coconut, cinnamon, nuts, nut butters, dark chocolate chips, yogurt… they list is endless!
Leave your oats in the fridge overnight and enjoy in the morning!
