Whether you’re packing a cooler for a day on the boat, heading out camping, or putting together a spread for a Cup Match party, sausage rolls are one of those crowd-pleasing snacks that always disappear quickly. Best of all, they’re incredibly easy to make with just a few supermarket staples!
Using Blakeman’s Beef 8s Sausages or Blakeman’s Pork Cocktail 32s Sausages and a Jus-Rol Puff Pastry Sheet Roll, you can have a batch ready in under an hour.
Ingredients
1 pack Jus-Rol Puff Pastry Sheet Roll
1 pack Blakeman’s Beef 8s Sausages or Blakeman’s Pork Cocktail 32s Sausages
1 egg, beaten (for glazing)
Optional: sesame seeds or poppy seeds for topping
Beef Sausage Rolls
Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Remove the puff pastry from the fridge and unroll it.
Cut the pastry into eight equal strips.
Remove the skins from the sausages and place one sausage along the centre of each strip.
Brush one edge of the pastry with beaten egg, then roll the pastry around the sausage, pressing the seam to seal.
Cut each roll in half for snack-sized pieces, or leave whole for larger sausage rolls.
Place seam-side down on the baking tray, brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with seeds if using.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the pastry is crisp and golden and the sausage is cooked through.
Pork Cocktail Sausage Rolls
Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Unroll the puff pastry and cut it into narrow strips, each just wide enough to wrap around a cocktail sausage.
Place a cocktail sausage at one end of each strip and roll it up, sealing the edge with a little beaten egg.
Arrange the rolls seam-side down on the baking tray, leaving a little space between each one.
Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
Bake for 15–20 minutes, until the pastry is puffed and golden and the sausages are heated through.
These sausage rolls are delicious served warm straight from the oven or enjoyed cold.
