Walking into the new Tapas Club on Bermudiana Road one immediately feels transported to Spain. The décor is distinctly Spanish with golden yellows and bold reds on the walls along with dramatic images highlighting Spanish tradition. One can take a seat at an intimate table for two, scope the scene by the charcuterie bar or join one of the festive group tables. The outside terrace, framed in breezy white drapes and dotted with colourful cushions, provides a lively spot to relax.
The Tapas Club opens in the afternoon so one can drop by for a drink, snack or a full meal, with service through to midnight. A variety of small plates on the casual and affordable menu is ideal for sharing and includes crowd-pleasers such as specialty meat and cheese boards. The seafood paella and crostini de arandano rojo brie and ham are a must!
No tapas bar would be complete without sangria (red and white), both sold by the glass or jug. The predominately Spanish wine list also features wines from other notable regions. Spanish-inspired cocktails, made exclusively by the resident mixologist, are a must although other classic cocktails are on offer.
The Tapas Club is located at 12 Bermudiana Road, Hamilton. Open Monday–Friday: 4:30 p.m. to midnight, Saturday & Sunday: 6 p.m. to midnight. Tel: 296-3330
