A new coffee shop will open at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club this coming Monday.
Named for Princess Louise, the Duchess of Argyll – The Duchess Café and Gelateria will open from 6:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. (and until 5:00 pm from April – October) and will offer everything from tea and coffee, to pastries, gelato, salads, smoothies and shakes.
Designed by BotelhoWood Architects, The Duchess features the hotel’s signature pale pink on the ceiling and in the stylish palm-print wallpaper and the café’s retro vibe is accentuated by the mid-century modern banquette seating and geometric accents.
Focusing on sustainability, the café will serve utensils made from plant-based materials, including hay straws, bamboo cup holders and wooden cutlery. And fitting with the hotel’s mission to support local growers, baked goods, salads and sandwiches will be made using locally grown fruits and vegetables from Wadson’s Farm and J&J Produce. Customers can also look forward to the house-made gelato and signature Duchess Cake.
To coincide with the café’s opening, The Duchess’ website will launch on Monday. Customers can also follow along on Instagram @DuchessBermuda.
