Mostly sweet, Mrs. Meyers fruit cake recipe serves up a rich and dense combination of ingredients creating the traditional flavourful and textured cake.

1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 egg, well beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup melted butter or margarine
2 cup fruit
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Mix flower together, sugar, salt, cinnamon, baking powder and baking soda.
Add egg, vanilla, and butter or margarine.
Stir until moist.
Mix in fruit and nuts. (Batter will be very thick.)
Turn into greased 8”x8”x2” pan and bake at 370*F for 30 minutes.
