Cheers to the first day of summer! This fruity grapefruit and watermelon sangria is the perfect concoction for summertime sippin’ – it’s not only refreshing and delicious but visually pleasing and easy to stir-up!
½ grapefruit (sliced)
2 tbsp sugar
1 bottle (750 mL) prosecco
1 bottle (750 mL) sauvignon blanc
1 cup grapefruit juice
1 cup watermelon (cut into heart shapes)
1 cup strawberries (stems removed, sliced in half)
1 cup club soda
Place the grapefruit slices in the bottom of a large pitcher. Add the sugar and muddle.
Pour the prosecco, sauvignon blanc and grapefruit juice into the pitcher.
Stir to combine.
To cut the watermelon into heart shapes, simply cut the watermelon into triangle pieces, then slice a small section out of the top of the triangle. Slice just a small amount from the top two corners to make a rounded corner.
Add the watermelon and strawberries to the sangria.
Refrigerate for at least one hour. Add the club soda before serving.
