The days are gradually getting longer and the weather is starting to mellow which is good because we’re looking forward to enjoying eating out in the warmer weather, before things inevitably get too hot and humid. Here are just five of our favourites.

For a Night to Remember: 1609 at The Hamilton Princess & Beach Club
With unmatched panoramic views over Hamilton Harbour and its electric sunsets, 1609 is the place to bring someone you’re trying to impress. Even if the weather gets a little wild, this is still a fun place to dine and the wall to ceiling windows can be lowered if needed. In the summer, enjoy the vibes of its waterfront bar during Harbour Nights, its popular happy hour event on Friday evenings, and enjoy light bites instead of a heavy meal. 76 Pitts Bay Road, 298-2028.

For Sightseeing: Pink Beach Club at The Loren
In prime position on Bermuda’s beautiful south shore, we highly recommend asking for a table by the water at picturesque Pink Beach. If you do, keep an eye out for Bermuda’s most colourful residents: schools of rainbow parrotfish are often seen flitting around the shoreline here, making a wonderful memory for the hotel’s guests. 116 South Road, 293-1666.

For Good Eats and Good Company: The New Woody’s Sports Bar & Restaurant
Dining at Woody’s may not be fancy but they do have excellent company and damn good grub. Order a fish sandwich and conch fritters inside, then grab a rum swizzle at the bar before finding a picnic table. Sit close to the restaurant to catch whichever game is on the television and good conversation or pick a bench by the water for a lazy afternoon lunchspot.
1 Woody’s Drive, 234-6526.

For the Hottest New Restaurant in Town: Deja View
The team behind Misaki – purveyors of the best sushi on the island in the author’s humble opinion – have launched their exciting new restaurant with little fanfare but there’s a lot to shout about here! Offering a wide range of sushi and Asian fusion, their menu is sure to tickle your taste buds as you enjoy the oasis of calm in the city, that is Barr’s Bay Park.
17 Point Pleasant Road, 261-7354.

For Breakfast and Brunch: Village Pantry
Whether you’re looking for hair of the dog or just a family friendly brunch spot, Village Pantry is our favourite alfresco option for mornings. Laid back, yet stylish, the light and airy restaurant’s covered outdoor dining deck is a feast for the eyes with hanging plants, ornamental lights and more – making it a treat for any meal of the day.
8 North Shore Road, 478-2300.
