Quietly nestled at the water’s edge in Jew’s Bay, Waterlot Inn has embodied Bermuda’s best steakhouse experience since first opening its doors as a full service restaurant in the mid-1920s.

Originally built in 1670, the building was passed down through family generations until it was converted into an old, English-tavern-style inn by Claudia Darrell. Built upon a time-honoured tradition for warmth and hospitality and a passion for making guests feel at home, Waterlot Inn is a cultural landmark, plain and simple. The restaurant has also been recognised internationally, boasting prestigious AAA Four Diamond and Wine Specta¬tor Awards, in addition to its multi-year Best of Bermuda recognition.

A spectacular, sophisticated ambi¬ance stems from old-world architecture, cedar furniture, regally framed paintings and a timeless menu. Additionally, the quiet location and spacious parking lot make logistics a breeze. Take your time and sip a pre-dinner cocktail in the privacy of one of their quiet, tastefully adorned sitting areas. And when you’re ready to dine, allow your server to suggest the perfect accompaniment to your meal from their unmatched, 500-plus wine list. It’s easy to imagine famous past visitors, including Eleanor Roosevelt and Mark Twain, doing likewise under the building’s old cedar beams.

Priding itself in having the highest quality prime cuts of beef, Waterlot Inn recommends the steak tasting trio for guests looking to sample the rib-eye, filet mignon and highest U.S.D.A. grade Wagyu striploin. There’s a fish-tasting trio too, featuring seared Grouper, Yellowfin Tuna and Bermuda cedar plank Salmon. A variety of soups, and salads – the tableside-prepared Caesar salad is one of the best on island – are also available to suit all palates and persuasions. Or, try something new with one of Chef John Lance’s daily specials, which feature the freshest in-season produce and seafood fare.

Dine inside by the golden glow of impressive chandeliers or outside at The Dock, Waterlot Inn’s chic al fresco lounge. Whereas indoors the atmosphere is traditional and classic, this outdoor area is sleek and stylish. Savor the sparkling water and picturesque sunset from one of their contemporary, cushioned chairs or benches. Grilled fare served sizzling hot is delivered from their waterside kitchen and complemented by an artisan beverage. For evening fun, relax in their lounge area to live nighttime music and indulge in a starlit stroll along the dock.
