As spring is a season of new beginnings of all kinds, it is the perfect time to focus on new health and fitness goals. These four events are all great options for getting out there and getting in some valuable exercise, all while enjoying the fun and the fitness with others. Many of these events have prizes, inspiring causes and appealing themes that make participation almost hard to resist! So sign up for one – or more! – of these health-friendly events, make progress on your goals and maybe even meet some new fitness buddies along the way!

1. WindReach 16th Annual Walk and Roll – Saturday, March 11th

Participate in WindReach’s annual Walk & Roll, an event intended to be fun for everyone! Wheelchair users, walkers, runners and bikers are all welcome at this event, which features routes that will begin at Clearwater Beach and continue throughout the beautiful Cooper’s Island Reserve. Three routes of 10K, 5K and 3K are available, and participants can expect to be taking part for a time of between one and two hours. 2. Bermuda Triple Challenge – Friday, March 17th – Sunday, March 19th

This World Championships Qualifying event is comprised of three different races and is sure to test your fitness abilities and show off the best of Bermuda’s natural beauty. Participants make take part in any or all of the races, which will be held over three days and in three different locations across the island: St. George’s, the South Shore beaches and Dockyard. Each race takes on a different focus, depending on its location and course type, but in general, Crossfit and boot camp style workouts, running, swimming and climbing will be among the activities involved. 3. Zoom Around the Sound – Saturday, March 25th

In this fun run, walk, ride or paddleboard around Harrington Sound, participants will complete a 7.2 mile route that begins and ends at the Bermuda Aquarium Museum and Zoo. Goody bags and t-shirts will be awarded to the first 700 participants to enter, and there will be free entry to BAMZ after the event. Cool drinks, fruit and snacks will be provided. 4. Relay for Life of Bermuda – Night of Friday, May 12th and Saturday, May 13th

Take part in the fourth annual Relay for Life of Bermuda, an event that brings the community together in the fight against cancer. Sign up as part of a team and compete to raise the most funds to support cancer treatment in Bermuda and, particularly, bringing radiation therapy to Bermuda, in a new facility that will open in mid-2017. This year’s fund raising goal is $600,000. Teams may adopt a theme of their choosing and dress in costume to boost spirit and to bring even more fun to the event! The fundraising will culminate with a fun, overnight walk/run on the night of Saturday, May 12 and Sunday, May 13. Everyone is welcome to participate.
