So you overdid it at Cup Match – we’ve all been there. Don’t fret though, our tried and true methods of detoxing will help you feel better in no time.

1. Drink 2 Liters of Water
Though there are differing opinions on how much water you should be drinking each day, a common recommended daily amount is eight 8-ounce glasses which equals about 2 liters. It’s important to hydrate after a big weekend of indulging and you should start to feel better after chugging some H2O.

2. Add Lemon to your Drinking Water to Alkalize your Body’s pH
It’s best to use warm water as it’s temperature helps extract vitamin C and polyphenols from the lemon and peel. Proponents of alkaline water say that the lemon helps to neutralize acid in your bloodstream and lessens your risk of developing cancer and heart disease.

3. Eat a Big Salad of Leafy Greens
After a weekend of eating and drinking everything, it’s a good idea to start eating healthily again as soon as possible. Combine cruciferous vegetables like kale, cabbage, brussel sprouts and cauliflower (all of which are good for detoxing) with walnuts, dried cranberries, shredded carrots, sunflower seeds and broccoli cuts.

5. Put Down your Phone and get some Rest
This shouldn’t need explaining! Not only is it a good idea to detox your body, but you should also consider detoxing your mind too. Try separating yourself from your phone, tablet, laptop, TV and get some much needed relaxation.

6. Challenge Yourself with Aerobic Exercise
This might be hard the day after Cup Match weekend but even just 15 minutes outside walking can help reset your mind and body. If you really can’t do it, skip to number 7

7. Stretch and Release
Focus on stretching your body and releasing any built up stress or tension in your muscles. By doing this, you’ll sleep better and allow your body to recover more quickly.
