This past Saturday I gathered together some of my best girls for an afternoon of playing dress up at Airy Heights Design with designer, Elisa Stubbs. The afternoon was a rainy one and so we took refuge in Elisa’s design studio at her family home in Shelly Bay where we sipped wine, nibbled fruits and cheeses and shopped the sparkling collection.
Each piece from Airy Heights Design is inspired by the flora and fauna found in Bermuda. The design of the studio space is also inspired by nature, with it’s great big windows, views of Harrington Sound and large indoor tree playing host to numerous pairs of drop earrings.
We were all taken aback by the series of earrings and necklaces inspired by the oleander leaf. Below, Kayleigh models the silver oleander leaves, I the gold, while Caitlin is fitted with a gold oleander leaf necklace by designer Elisa Stubbs. The details in each leaf are incredible – it actually looks as if each leaf was carefully dipped in gold or silver.
We ended up walking away with some truly incredible pieces, none of which we’ve taken off since Saturday. Elisa is the perfect host, having taken time with each of us individually to carefully explain the design of the pieces we chose. We’ve been in a dizzy blur of excitement since, all of us agreeing that it was an afternoon well spent.
