One of the best parts about working for The Bermudian Publishing Company is working under the Editor and Publisher, Tina Stevenson. For those of you who are not lucky enough to know her, she’s hilarious. She resembles a combination of Chelsea Handler and Miranda Preistley from The Devil Wears Prada. Mostly no-nonsense but always up for a good laugh and the best story teller I’ve ever met, Tina is non-stop entertainment.
Easily Tina’s favourite part of her day is when she gets to tell me about her morning run. She always does so with pride and a you-should-be-going-for-a-morning-run-too attitude. She practically gets up out of her office chair and does left-leg lunges every time she begins the sentence: “This morning I ran five miles…”. Just yesterday, I saw her out of the corner of my eye doing bicep curls with her cordless office phone as she told me that it was still dark outside when she came home from her run, a time when I was still happily fast asleep in bed.
Little does Tina know that I started working out a few weeks ago. All it takes is a little motivation to kick a workout regime into gear and that motivation came in the form of super cute running shoes!
I don’t pretend to know the logistics of workout equipment but I fully understand the importance of good-looking running shoes, and these are without a doubt the best ones I’ve ever seen.
To be honest, I was going to buy them solely because they were pink but I was even more impressed by their great fit, springy cushion and support. Even better is that this shoe is Nike+ ready, which means that you can purchase the Nike+ sensor from The Complete Office for $36.00 and track your runs. The Nike running shoe has a built-in compartment specifically for the sensor, just under the foot pad in one of the shoes. The sensor connects wirelessly to your iPod or iPhone and is able to tell you the distance of your run, calories burned, length of time in motion and play your favourite songs from your device. Amazing right?
With these great shoes and my Nike+ sensor, I’ll be doing left-leg lunges with more vigor and ease than Tina in no time.
Purchase your own Nike LunarGlide+3 running shoes from The Sports Locker for $120.00 and the Nike+ sensor from The Complete Office for $36.00.
