Best, Recently Read, Book
I recently finished the book Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer. I am a science and nature lover. This book touched on Indigenous knowledge and teachings and how we can apply them to the westernized world. It was such a beautiful book. We can all learn from a culture that treats nature as equal.
Best Pizza
Nothing beats a thin crust, brick oven pizza. I love Trattoria or Rustico. Yum
Favourite Place
Home. Getting my money’s worth. When you have a mortgage, home is a great place to be (plus, spending time with my family is the best!). I also love this country, take me to Cooper’s Island, Spittal Pond or a walk around the neighbourhood and I’m a happy girl.
Coffee Shop
Rock Island will always be a favorite. I am actually not a coffee drinker, but the ladies there know to pour me a large cup of tea (and I, of course can never say no to a treat – especially their massive cinnamon buns on a Thursday or Saturday)
Who Makes You Laugh
My son! 9 year old boys say some pretty hilarious things (even if they don’t mean to be funny). I also love a good old cheesy romcom if I need to completely detach from reality and have a giggle.
Favourite Weekend Thing
Slow mornings, Nature Walks, Riding bikes with my family (I am really going to attempt to master poppin’ wheelies with confidence by the end of the summer) and baking bread for my family and neighbours.
