Harold “Tre” Houston
Age: 25

Qualified for the Olympic Games 2016
My Highlights
Broke the 100 metre and 200 metre recordin the 2013 Island Games; made the World Championships; ran in front of 90,000 people in Beijing.
How I Got Started
My father, Lloyd Van Putten, got me into it. I grew up playing football, and my dad noticed that I had some speed. Funny story: I used to run the wrong way on the pitch and score in the wrong goal!
How I Train
I train twice a day Monday through Friday, and lift weights first thing in the morning at 5 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays. It can get tedious sometimes, but the repetition is crucial. I also do speed work, endurance work and block work.
My Diet
I mainly eat fish, chicken, lean meats, rice and vegetables. Sometimes I’ll indulge in a steak, but usually only once a month. I’m really trying to be stricter about my diet. I stay away from things like candy and chocolate, and am trying to eat more fruits.
How I Got Inspired
When it comes down to work ethic, I’d have to say my parents have been my greatest inspiration.
What I Do In My Free Time
I’ve started a logo/brand for myself, so it’s been fun to play around with some marketing concepts…I love working on my brand. I read, play pool and hang out with friends. I also enjoy living on the edge, and would love to try something like skydiving.
