Julian Fletcher
Age: 25
Sport: Swimming (Breaststroke)

My Highlights
Pan American Games semi-finalist (Toronto 2015); Commonwealth Games semi-finalist (Glasgow 2014); three-time LC National Record holder; three-time SC National Record holder; two-time C-USA Gold Medalist; two-time C-USA Bronze Medalist.

How I Got Started
In middle school I joined the Sharks swim club, and competed in my first international competition at 16 in Jamaica. As I grew older, I started to become faster and was recruited by Eddie Sinnott at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where I was taught discipline and technique.

How I Train
Six to eight swimming sessions and four to five weight/dryland sessions per week.

My Diet
I have a high caloric intake in order to be able to convert those macronutrients into energy. Usually each week I go grocery shopping for fruits, vegetables, protein and carbohydrates to cook healthy, sustainable meals.

How I Got Inspired
National team director Ben Smith has played a massive role in my swimming career, and without him I would not be where I am today.

My Ultimate Sports Goal
I want to leave an imprint on the sport of swimming and create a pathway that younger athletes can use to place Bermuda on the map at the world elite level.
